Air duct heaters

Air duct heater

Air duct heaters, essentially assemblies of heating elements in a casing, are designed to warm non-pressurized air. These elements, which can be an open coil, tubular, or finned tubular, are placed inside a duct or insulated body, where passing air is warmed to the desired temperature. For applications demanding high heat output, multiple smaller air tubular heater units can be arranged in series. This approach not only fulfills diverse process temperature requirements but also simplifies maintenance and spare cost.

Types of the Air tubular heater

Air duct heaters come in various types, each with unique characteristics to meet specific heating needs.
Flange air duct heater

Flange-type electric heater. Type F
1. Position the electric heater in front of the duct flange.
2. Secure the electric heater to the duct by using metal screws or bolts through the duct flanges.
3. If necessary, install supports to maintain the electric heater.

Round type duct heater

With the round adapter option
1. Insert an electric heater between the two sections of the round duct.
2. Secure the electric heater by using metal screws through round
flanges.
3. If necessary, install supports to maintain the electric heater.

Insert (slip in) duct heater

Slip-in type electric heater Type l
1) Cut an opening in the duct. Please allow 以 (6.3mm) more than the frame width “D
2) Insert the electric heater through the opening.
3) Secure the electric heater onto the duct using metal screws.2 flanges 1”(25.4mm) are provided on each side of the control
panel.
4) If necessary, re-enforced the duct rigidity by installing appropriate support(s).

Air duct heater Construction

The structure of the heater can be viewed from the following aspects, which have been explained in detail.

1. Three distinct types of heating elements are available: Tubular Heating Elements, Finned Elements, Open Coil Heating Elements

2. Support Baffle Plate: This feature firmly anchors the heating elements, mitigating vibrations.

3. Mounting Flange/Plate: This component attaches the heating elements to the duct’s external structure. The plate’s size and shape vary based on the heater’s rating and dimensions. The heating elements can be attached with removable adapters or permanently welded, depending on the application.

4. Terminal Box: Typically a rectangular enclosure, it houses all element terminals, internally wired in clusters. The terminal box can be a standard sheet metal design for safe areas or a flameproof version for hazardous environments.

Special duct heater

Special air duct heaters are custom-engineered heating solutions designed to meet unique application requirements. These heaters are versatile and can be configured to accommodate a wide range of environments and conditions. The following are two special types of products.

special duct heater
High efficiency, up to 95% or more Clean gas, small volume: Single power from 2XW-2000KM; Durable, with a service life of up to decades; The heating and cooling rate is fast, up to 10~C/S; Air outlet temperature and flow controllable, frequency conversion speed regulation The gas can reach 800″C, and the shell temperature seat is only about 50~C There will be no temperature control drift, suitable for automatic control The special alloy material of the heating element has better mechanical properties than any heating element Various types of high-temperature air electric heaters can be designed according to user needs.
